SUMMER 2008 EMT-BASIC COURSE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Start College This Summer at Creighton University Creighton University is offering a CPR and EMT-Basic course for high school students. Learn how to perform physical examinations, obtain medical histories from patients, take vital signs, and perform life-saving procedures. The CPR course and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Course (EMS 101) are the gateways for entry into emergency medical services and are prerequisites for entry into the Paramedic Program. Students who successfully complete the courses are eligible to take the National Registry Examination at age 18. Creighton is offering a special reduced tuition rate of $75 per credit hour plus registration fees of $84 for current high school students. Your tuition and fees (uniform and books not included) will total only $384 for four (4) Creighton University credit hours! The CPR and EMT-B Courses include: · AHA CPR and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) · Patient Assessment · Airway Management · Bleeding control · Wound care · Management of Sprains, Strains & Fractures · Patient Transportation · Respiratory and Cardiac Emergencies · Environmental Emergencies · Childbirth (Delivery) · Extrication (rescuing patients from entrapment in vehicles and buildings etc.) Course Information:
