This
course is offered to all persons who wish to provide emergency medical
care with an EMS service, fire department, or other health care settings.
The curriculum provides for an early and continuing emphasis on patient
assessment as well as reinforcement of the basic sequence of emergency
care procedures. The EMT-Basic course follows the U.S. Department of
Transportation Basic EMT curriculum, and consists of approximately 120
classroom hours in addition to performing 5 patient assessments in the
field.

Prerequisites:
Current BLS
for the Healthcare Provider. Several courses options are available
at Creighton University EMS Education to complete a BLS Course. Student must be 18 years of age upon course
completion to be eligible to take the National Registry examination.
