NURSE to EMT-B
 

Utilizing the Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for the training of the EMT-Basic, this course gives recognition of learned knowledge in patient care by the nurse. The emphasis is on transition of emergency care by the nurse from

 the clinical environment to that found in the pre-hospital setting. This is an intensive one-week program that will allow the RN or LPN to sit for the National Registry of EMT Basic Certification examination.

Monday - Saturday     October 15-20, 2007     9:00am - 5:00 pm 

Monday - Saturday     March 10 - 15, 2008      9:00am - 5:00 pm 

Monday - Saturday     April 14-19, 2008,         9:00am - 5:00 pm

Monday - Saturday     September 22-27, 2008 9:00am - 5:00 pm

Intended Audience:

Nurses interested in enhancing their training with basic emergency medical care

 

Student Material:

Textbook, stethoscope, uniform, penlight, watch, transportation

 

Prerequisites:

Current RN or LPN license

Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider

 

Tuition:

$500.00 for the Certificate Program (with $100.00 deposit to secure seat in class) or 4 semester hours at current Creighton University tuition rate (EMS 160)

 

Maximum Class Size: 16
